THERE IS HOPE RECORDS PURCHASE FROM BANDCAMP
The Christmas Gift features 13 tracks consisting of many genres of music form independent musicians like John Keller to internationally known artist like Kelly Keeling. The Christmas Gift is the second release to be released on Melodic Revolution Records imprint label “There Is Hope”. This album is being released to help raise money for those less fortunate then us, the families that have been misplaced and lost their homes due to the recession. All proceeds (profits) will go to Habitat for Humanity. We hope that while you give to this worthy cause that you enjoy the music that has been donated by these very talented artists.
And now for something completely different. Melodic Revolution is an international collective of musicians, sharing through the internet their music, with each other and with fans of their progressive styles. Jazz, Folk, Rock, Blues, Electronic, and all assortment of fusions of two or more of those, they all find a home at Melodic Revolution. Not too long ago, in response to the crisis in Haiti, Melodic Revolution set up a sub-label, There Is Hope, to act as their charitable imprint. "The Christmas Gift" is more gift than Christmas--only a handful of these songs deal directly with either the secular or religious holiday. Raising money for Habitat for Humanity is the real Christmas gift involved. Still, there are some nice licks here, if not a lot of hooks. If you miss the days when FM radio was at its most experimental, you might enjoy this. And, as its for charity, it merits investigation. But there's not much here for fans of holiday music beyond Chuck Eaton's "Take This Christmas" and The RoboDrum's "Southern Christmas".
